HARBOURMASTER’S REPORT. The,' sHarbdnrniadter ((Captain Collins) reported that the trade of the port for the period ending 31st March ho we cl a decrease of 1506 tons on the total tonnage lor the month as (compared with the corresponding month last year. During the month 129 -vessels entered and left the port, made up as foilowd: —14 Union >atealraeifey 101 small steamers, and. 14 sailing vessels, having a total of 18,054 tons register. Work in connection with the repairs to the wharf at Mapiui were almost completed, with the exception for extra set of rails, which were now now being placed in posiion on the wharf for the purpose of using two trucks for facilitating the loading and unloading of cargo. This work would be finished within, the nlext few days.
