THE NIAGARA CASES.
STATEMENT BY DR, PETTIT,
AUCKLAND, April 4. There are npw 25 ,suffering from influenza at the quarantine station at Motuihi. They are under the care of' Dr. Pettit, who jdajed tonight that four of these werp; serious cases with pneumonia complications and the remainder yyere ordinary rinfiupnza cases whose condition was satisfactory. Of the patients now under treatment, 19 were graded from the Niagara in the first instanpe. Two contacts., subsequently developed- the /disease, and three more patients were landed from the Niagara to-day. Mails will be fumigated and landed from the Niagara s to-niQrrow.
