HOURS FOR PICTURE THEATRES
(United Press Association) iW ELLIN GTUN, This Day. Seven proprietors of picture theatres •were charged at the Magistrate’s Court lor opening during prohibited hours. The facts-were admitted. - ; The defence in. two case* was that the doors were opened a quarter of an hour early to let- people in out *ot the rain, also that “open” meant open for screening of pictures and applied' to the auditorium, and not the vestibule. Mr.lraeer, S.M., said the word must be construed .m the ordinary sense. These cases would be dismissed as trivial. The other defendants pleaded guilty, and were fined .£2 and cos's.
