Answer.—From the £100,000,000 of production. 15.6 per- cent., or £ls 12s in every £IOO, went to the State. Q.—WILL PROHIBITION RESULT IN INCREASED WORKING EFFICIENCY? Answer. —Yes. American estimates based upon actual experience place the increased efficiency at 21 per cent., but- call it .10 per cent., or even , as low’ as 5 per cent., this means £5,000,000 to £10,000,000 extra production. Q —WHAT REVENUE WILL THE STATE LOSE THROUGH PROHIBITION? Answer.-—About £1,000,000 a year, Which is at present derived from the expenditure of £5,(J00,0G0 on liquor.
