Cable .Association LONDON, Jan,; 20. .Mr. Brickwell, director of the cold storage department of the Ministry of Food, states that a yery large quantity, almost a -glut, o.£ Australian ..meat will be available within a few months. . The weekly supply will continue sufficiently large to meet all needs, and 1 it is -not necessary to continue -rationing. Byj October there will be a cubic foot of cold l storage for every man* woman, and child in the United Kingdom.: The structures have cost thus far over three , millions. Tf the , war , had .continued they would have provided still 1 more. This was unnecessary, Moat .of the cold 1 stores are at the seaports. Londop has sixteen million cubic feet out of a, total,of thirty-nine million. • Liverpool,: Mancheser, and Bristol are next. There are also smaller .stores dotted over the Midlands, but few in the North of "England and Scotland,' Because consumers object to frozen meat... 1 ’ . ,
The cold storage department intends to relax control-as quickly as possible, and leave the development to private enterprise. - r
