It is the roasting of coffee-berries the exquisite flavour so much appreciated by coffee-drinkers. That, is well known. But it is not so well known that our N.Z. -grown tobaccos. 'Gold Poudi and Three Diamonds, are how subjected to the same roasting or toasting process-and with the sanje result as iif 'the case ,of the coffee, berries. The flavour ' is brought fully but, while, -at ; the satne time , the, deleterious properties of tho tobacco, , destroyed. Siuokere are unanimously in favour of the hew departure, arid proclaim toasted tobacco superior to , any other. But it is a" healthier smoke, too, "with .* no moisture added.,or sauce qr. other adulterations, which figure largely in the composition -s&f foreign brands. Two full ounces a shilling.* ;
