THE seton murder.
RESUMPTION OF THE INQUEST. (Australian and N.Z, Cable Association^ LONDON, .Jan. 18. The inquest on Major Seton was resumed. -Colonel Rutherford was not! present. Sir Malcolm Seton gave evidence that geton on the night of th e tragedy was in unusually' good spirits. Rutherford’s interview lasted 15 minutes. Then shots were heard, and witness found deceased lying across the hall. He was apparently leaving the room when he fell.’ Rutherford, who admitted doing the shooting, was very quiet and ca in. He looked like a man who had decided to do something, an having done it, nothing else mattered. Lady Seton gave evidence that during Sir Malcolm’s absence Rutherford was restless. (She heard the cli(ik of a pic-tol and shouted, “Put that down. Come over here.” Rutherford obeyed, and promised not- to touch it, adding I would not promise if it, was any use to me. '. -■•-... i
