An American communique reports We resumed the advance northward of Verdun against the strongest strategically and most valuable position. We passed beyond Cunel Romagn<e. Our patrols are in 13ois de Bantheville and our attacking line has penetrated St. Georges Land res. We have taken prsoner 750. FLANDERS OFFENSIVE. PRISONERS EXCEED 10,000. ENEMY RESISTANCE STIFFENING (Rec. Oct. 16, 1.15 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 15. The United Press correspondent states:—The prisoners captured in Belgium exceed 10,000 and guns a hundred. Enemy resistance is stiffening. GERMAN CONSERVATIVE PARTY EVACUATION DENOUNCED. (Rec. Oct. 16, 1.55 p.m.) AMSTERDAM, Oct. 15. .The German Conservative Party, in a manifesto, denounces evacuation, and adds : ' 'Germany will he defended to the jitter end."
