THE FLAG DRIVE.
A meeting of the executive of the Red Gross-and' the" captains of the four wards .was held yesterday afternoon in connection with the ;'Flag Drive on- behalf of the "Our Day'' appeal. - It was 'reported; that the organisation of the war committees was so far advanced that it was decided to commence the sale of flags on Thursdy morning. ~. A donation of nvie' shillings' entitles the donor to. a and it is hoped that at least one flag will appear in every residence and .business establishment.in the.city. Those donors who have subscribed to "Our Day" in response to the circular of personal appeal and forwarded their subscriptions to the secretary of th«« Red Cross will have their flags foTwarded direct from the de-pot, while the value' of donations will be credited to the respective wards i-epresented by do-nqi-s. In cases where; donors are principals of businesses, they may,, if put.' chasers of a stifncieht number to allow.' it to be dc-ne, divide ttie flags between residence and' :.'■' business establishment.' A flag exhibited in the window is an indication that the occupier of the «**-; tablishnient has already joined; colours,-- and the collector can pass on.
