"Messrs T. Noale and C. R. Fell, a deputation from the Nelson: Hospita,l and Charitable- Aid Board, interviewed* the Hon. G. W. Russell, Minister for HospitaJs, in Wellington yesterday in reference to the new hospital , and tho" question of the proposed buildings ahki the site. II is 'doubtful if tilie Minister of Finance will certify under the War !R.egu.lationis to the expenditure of tho large sum involved dairing the continuance of tho war. The Hon. informed the deputation that if for thi s reason the building cannot bo gone on with at tho present time has recent offer of contributing to the .expenditure wonld.be available after the war ended, and he would write the Board ■to this effect. The deputation discussed the question of the site with the Minister-• and his officers, and the Minister was strongly in favour of the .Board's .obtaining, if possible, asite more worthy of the proposed buildings. He promised to come to Nelson as soon as he fulfillevJ an engagement in the South, and go into the "matter fully with his officers,
