ITALIAN RED CROSS DAY.

The Executive Committee of the Italian Red Cross Day met at the Council Chamber last evening, there being a large attendance. The Mayor (Mr W. W. Snodgrass) presided. Mr J. Vitetta reported that the Thearte Royal would not be available for a concert on August sth. It wais res loved to hold the concert on Friday, August 9th, when some Wellington performers will take pari. It was announced that Mrs Batira [ had offered another special prize of £2 10a in addition to that previously given by her. i Sub-committees were set up in- connection with the motor car events and the tradesmen's displays'. Lieutenant Ver'.oe reported re the copper trail at Trafalgar Park. It was proposed to have two trails, with a town and country competition. Ticketswould be sold beforehand. A supply of pennies should be arranged for from, the batiks. Arrangements for the copper trail had been left in the hands of Messrs Bpnzies. Yercoe and H. 'Saunders. The Mayor stated that arrangements had been made to have the returned soldiers' luncheon in the Provincial Hail. It was reported that both city bandte would give all the assistance they could. Resolved that the Principal of the College be asked to allow the Cadets to parade on August sth; that admission to Park be 6d for all Cadets in uniform. There will be a Territorial parade on August sth. Mr P. Margesson, Glenhope, wrote offering a gold bracelet (won as a surprise packet), and forwarding a cheque for £1 Is.—Resolved to accept the bracelet for use in raising funds. Mr B.
