FACTORY REGULATIONS.

STILL UNDER "CONSIDER ATI ON.

Tho proposed new regulations governing hc-ating, ventilation, and sanitary' conveniences in factories and shops, adraft of which was circulated among interested parties many weeks ago, ;ire still under consideration, and-it will probably bo somo time before finalty is reached, rays the Post. The regulations have been submitted by the Labour Bepartment to various experts in the hope that when completed• they will bo' found thoroughly satisfactory' and of ) a distinct benefit to employers and employed. The greatest difficulty has been experienced in regard to tho drawing up of heating regulations, owing to the divergent views expressed by various parties. The Department has to. the proMem as to which heating appliances arc likely to give the. greatest satisfaction, and- at the same time, the question of ovei'coming impurities in the air ioned by their use must be considered.
