(Rec. June 17, 8.50 a.m.) LONDON, June 16. A British Italia n official message states :
After a heavy' bombardment from the sea to Adig e the enemy's infantry attacked all day long. Four Austrian divisions attacked the British front. The attack on the right completely failed, with the Qieaviest enemy losses. On the left the enemy penetrated the front line on a front of 2500 yards to a maximum depth of a thousand yards, where he is firmly contained. The enemy suffered very heavy losses.
Our low fliers in the afternoon were continually engaged in machine-gun-ning and bombing enemy bridges and transports on the Lo%ver Piave, doing great damage.

ROME, June 14.
Admiral Bravetta states when the Szent Isfcvan was torpedoed, the Austrian squadron intended to reach Cattaro, believing the Germans would' subsequently dash out with the Russian Black Sea ships and junction with the Austriahs at Cattaro for an attack on the fleets, while the German High Seas Fleet would risk a decisive battle in the North 'Sea. The Messagero learns that ftne Austrian Dreadnought sunk Avith eight of the crew was the Tegethoff.
