Limit. W. Hudson, sou of the ]ate Dr. Hudson, and of Mrs Hudson, Tapawera, arrived in Nelson yesterday on furlough Lieut. Hudson hold,/ a commission in the Imperial Army, and was wounded in France towards the end of last year.

The Golden Bay Times says that Mr F. Sta'.lnrd, harbourmaster at Collingwood. has been compelled to enter the Nelson Hospital owing to illness.

The Rev. C\. H. CSibb, who went to Wellington last week to take the services at St. John's; Church yesterday, returns to Nelson to-morrow morning.

Mr B. Neale has been appointed acting-secretary to Messrs Ivirkpatrick and Co...during the absence of Mr C Milner on active service.

Rifleman Ronald White, who wa.s killed in. action on Mav 26th, was a son of Mr and Mrs W. White, of Silverstream, Bainham.

.-At the Telegraph Office last week a presentation of a wi-i>tlet waitch "was made to Sapper J. 11. Robertson by Mr Gee, Chief Postmaster, on behalf of the staff of the local Post and Telegraph 'Office. Mr Gee conveyed to Sapper Robertson the best wishes of the staff £->r "a succesful fight and' a. safe return." Sapper Robertson suitably replied. Mr Gee also on behalf of the staff as>ked Sapper Robertson to give to Sapper Ross St. John, of 40th Mounted Signallers a wristlet - watch, aind to convey the best wishes of the staff with it. Sapper St. John has replied by letter thanking the staff for the gift.
