CHRISTCHURCH. .May 15. LA.t Addingtou market the yarding of fat cattle and fat sheep was large. but the offerings in nearly all the other departments were smaller. In the store sheep section the demand was .mainly for wethers and forwards lambs, the former now being sought after for turnip feeding. There was a limited enquiry for ewes. Fat lambs showed a further falling off. in both numbers and qualitv. but the market was tirm- Prime fat sheep maintained their values, but unfinished and inferior ewes were easier. Fat'cattle .sold at about late rates, exporters operating more freely. There was a rather better enquiry for store cattle, and dairv cows near calving sold well. There was a good demand for .pi£s of "all classes. . Store Sheep.—Four a'nd. .six-tooth ewes, 27s lid to 32s 6d : six and 8-tooth ewes, 24e 6d to 295 ; s.m. ewes, 25s 9d; 2 and 4-tooth wethers, 25s 6d to 30s; 4 and 6-tooth wethers. 25s 3d to 32s 4d>; mixed sex lambs, 18s 9d : wether lambs, 21s Hd. A _ Fat Lambs.—Extra prime, to 43s 6ri prime, 27s 6d to. 335: medium, 24s 6d to 27s j lighter, 20s to 245. Fat Sheep.—Extra prime wethers, t.r. 465; .prime wethere, 38s to 43s 2d; lighter wethers, 30s 7d to 37s 6d; merino wethers, 25s 6d to 335; extra prime ewes, 40s 9d; prime ewes, 3o* 6dl to 40s; medium ewes, 30s to 355 : lighter ewes. 18s Id to 29s 6d; merino ewes, 15s 6d.
