LUXURY TAX IN FRANCE
NOT UP TO EXPECTATIONS.

Contrary to the 'Government's estimate that the year's yield of luxury tax be 20 or 30 millions sterling, the first month yielded only £600,000. Possibly the Easter exodus accounts for the deficit.
