SOLDIERS' GRAVES.

The soldiers' plot is expected to be ready for use within a few weeks... The Women's National 'Reserve, has worked long and hard to complete this arrangement. It was felt thaVtho bod-' ies of-the soldiers who had' died in the military hospitals in and around Wellington should, be placed in a special plot of ground, which could he planted and used also as a site for soldiers' memorial. 'Much, delay was caused by, the inability '" of Government Departments- to agree on the question of responsibility for soldiers* graves, but the control of the Defence Department has now been established.

The selected plot of land is about an acre'in area., and is situated near the entrance to the Karori Cemtery. Space will be reserved a.t-the centre for the erection of a monument, and the graves will" be' standardised'- Plans for the improvement'of the ground will be arranged' bv the €dty Council and. the "Women's "National 'Reserve; Wheri the necessary arrangements havo been'completed the bodies of soldiers alreadv buried at-Karori will be removed to the soldiers' pot.
