Town Clerk's Office, 27th April, 1918.NOTICE is hereby given that the Nelson City Council will at an Ordinary Meeting of the Council, to be held at the City Council Chamber, Selwyn Place, Nelson, on Friday, the 17th day of May, 1918, make and Jevy the following -<RATES for the period' commencing on the Ist day of April, 1918, and ending on the 31st March, 1919, namely: • A GENERAL RATE under Section 78 of the Municipcil Corporations Act, 1908, of One;' Shilling and Tenpence in the Pound on the rateable value on the Valuation Roll of all Rateable Property within the City of Nelson on the basis of the annual value. WATER RATE Supnly) under Section 83 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, as follows: 1. On "all Lands and .Buildings in the •City of Nelson to which Water- is supplied l {a) Where the annual rateable value. does not exceed £ls, a rate of Ten Shillings; (b) Wbere such rateable value exceds £ls, a rate of £3 10a' per cent on such value, 2. On all Land and! Buildings to which water can be but is not supplied, situate within one hundred yards from any part of the Waterworks, a rate of one-half of the Water ■ Rate above mentioned. ,5.
