U-BOATS DETECTED 30 MILES AWAY. ; [Australian and N-Z. Cable Association.) (Rec. Mav 16, 9.20 a.m.) NEW YORK, May 14. The Evening Post's Washington correspondent says the Allies have a device attached to patrol vessels whereby they are able to' hear and locate submarines 30 miles away. This accounts for the heavy destruction of U-boats during the last few months.
