f There was a good attendance at the monthly meeting of the W.C.T.U. on Tuesday afternoon. Devotions were conducted bv Mrs Field, and th° chair was occupied by Mrs "Watson. The attention of members was drawn to the lecture to be given by Mv Just, Organising Secretary of the N.Z. Touchers' In fiUfute. and to the fact that Unions hid been recommended by the Convention to co-operate with the Institute in it*-, efforts for educational reform. It was decided to invite Mrs 'Peryman to vii't Nelson in the interests of the Union, as soon as it could be arranged after the middle of June, also to send an invitation to Mrs Napier, Y Organiser, for an earlv visit.

' Mr*? Knapp, lion, secretary, received a hearty welcome on her return from Melbourne. She gave some interesting details of her visit, and of the work of the Melbourne Union. Arrangements were made for a social afternoon next Tuefdav. May 21st, as a farewell to Mr.? Emmett and Mrs Hurst, who are shortly leaving Nelson. Members were reminded that the June meeting would be the celebration of White Ribbon Day t when the usual collection for the Maori Fund will be taken. Those present were asked to try and secure fresh subscribers for the White Ribbon. It was announced that the fii'St meeting under the Good Citizenship Department would be held on Friday. June 7th. and all who could do fo were invited to attend. Reports of Convention were given by Mrs Field and Mrs Moves ; Mrs Field spoke specially of the work of the social hygiene department, and of" the formation of a Dominion reference li.bary, for the use of all Union officers and superintendents. A pleasing item in the proceedings was a song by Mrs Watron, of Wellington.
