! The takings at the Helping Hand Shop were largely increased this week through tho efforts of some sportsmen in securing a quantity of venison, lhe committee wish to thank them for their help. The sportsmen and the committee of the shop specially thank Messrs Kerr brothers, of Blue Glen, for their kindness and co-operation in.. maKing the deer-stalking trip such a .success. The Red Cross Fund benefits to the extent of £39 Os 5d by y^f d business. The expenses were .Ifs. The Boys* Training Farm, Bnghtwater Show and Tahunanui Anglican Church (harvest fTsXival} contributed well. The boys assistance each week te much- appreciated. The prizes donated by Miss Lorimer for children's frocks for competition at thfl Helping Hand Shop were won by $?» B. lP Ffeld, Girls ' College, classl3 years and under 16, and .M' 53 ™ 6 !™* Anstice, 'Girls' Central, class 10 years and under 13. Mesdatries Lea and Sclanders kindly /judged *h© which were uil beautifully made and gave the fudges some thought m allotiiisr the prizes.
