PLUNKET SOCIETY.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Committee of the Plunket Society was held on Friday, April sth. The attendance was small, Mrs Buchanan presiding. In reference to the garden party winch was to have been given as a welcome to Nurse Thompson, the President stated that it had been found necessary to postpone it on account of the absence of some of the members of committee concerned, but it was hoped that something might be arranged at a later date. monthly accounts, amounting to £22 16s lid, were passed for payment. A letter was read from the Motueka sub-branch, stating that Mr {Lionel Mackay has been appointed as their delegate on the committee The Nurse's report was ratisfactory, showing that good work had been done, while the lar"-e number of adult visitors to the rooms seemed to indicate a growing interest in the Society's work. One vlsl ] each to .Motueka and Richmond .and two to Wakefield had been paid during the month. The minutes -were read ot the Cenrtal Council's meeting, at which a resolution had been passed to the elfect that the Karetane Hospital at Dunedin was the onlv one at which the full training of a Plunket Nurse will bo given : at all other Karetane Ho-~pi-t-iU in New Zealand, the training given only that of a Karetane Nurse The secretary presented the dralt ot her annual report, which was received and approved ; the balance-sheet was not read, being still in the hands of the auditor. . , . , T The next meeting was fixed ior day, May 6th, when the date of the annual meeting will be deckled upon.
