LATE LOCALS.
An importation of considerable interest to. farmers has just been made by Mr Lyel Baigent, of Wakefield, who, . through the agency of Dalgety and Co., Ltd." has landed a consignment of purebred Shorthorn heifers from the hai'd of Mr W. Kay, Te Awamutu, Hamilton. These heifera -were mated before shipment with a stud Shorthorn bull of milking strain, arid are described by those who have inspected them as being a particularly fine lot of well-grown, good coloured, characteristic cattle. It f s Ml Baieentfs intention to breed a heifere for saje, and in selecting his foundation stock he has spared - no expense, thereby obtaining some of " * the best blood in the Dominion. The Milking Shorthorn is fast coming into favour as being the very best dual purpose cow, and in view of its suitability to local conditions, Mr Baigent will no doubt have little difficulty in disposing of his surplus stock.
