ANNUAL RACE MEETING

Th© Nelson Jockey) Club's annual race meeting will be held at Richmond Park on Wednesday and Thursday next, March 6th and 7th. Should the club be favoured by fine weather the gathering promises to be very successful. The races will commence each day at 11.30 a.m., which will enable the programme to 'be completed, in time for racegoers to catch th e ordinary trains leaving Richmond at 5 o'clock. Wellington visitors will also be able to return by steamers leaving on Thursday evening.

The proportion- of acceptances is very satisfactory, and there should be good fields and interesting races. The rise on the lawn wall enable the public to follow the races. A marquee wi I be provided as a rest for ladies.^ The club has engaged the services of Messrs Vitetta Bros.' orchestra of seven performers to provide music on both da vs.

Owing to shortage of labour and other conditions, the club was unable to make arrangements for luncheon, but afternoon tea and light refreshments will be procurable. There will also be a licensed victualler's booth on the gTOund. The official race cards will be procurable at Alf. Robinson's this evening. A number of West Coast and' Blenheim horses have already arrived, and are training at Richmond. The Pateena this morning brought Prince Delaware, Trickery, Kiltess, Skedaddle, Wadmatao, Good Hope, Pariform, Silk Ribbon, Rienzi, Black Heath, and Imaribbon.
