CLAIMS AGAINST THE ENEMY.

In a Gazette Extraordinary issued yesterday it is hotifiey by Order-in-Council,, dated: the 27 th inst., that on or before 30th April, 1918, every British subject in New Zealand, and every company or other corporation incorporated, in New Zealand, must make to the. Public Trustee at Wellington a return in writing of the maters following:— i(a). All property which belongs to that British subject or corporation and which is situate'd within the territories of His Majesty's enemies: (b.) All property whicn belongs to that British subject" or corporation, and which is situated within any territory which is now in the military occupation of His /Majesty's enemies. (c.) All pecuniary claims of that' British subject or corporation against any enemy Government; : (d.) All pecuniary claims of that Bri- , tish subject or corporation against any persons or corporations resident or carrying on business within the territories of His Majesty's enemies; (e.) All pecuniary claims of that British subject or corporation against any person or corporation resident or carrying on business in territory which is now in the military occupation of His Majesty's enemies. Returns shall be made as aloresaid in respect of all enemy territory, notwithstanding the fact that such territory may be now in the military occupation of His Majesty's Forces.
