SERIOUS ACCIDENT
TO AN ELDERLY MAN.
A serious accident happened this morning at Messrs Page and /Sone lurniture factorv. An employee named J. G. Stephenson, who has charge of tne suction gas plant, fell backwards _fn>ia a stack of coke, striking a piece of timber protruding from, a stack. It was seen that Mr Stephenson was badly hurt, and Dr Bett was summoned, ana he ordered a removal to the Hospital. An examination disclosed that two ribs were broken and a lung penetrated. Such an injury at Mr Stephenson's time of life—he is 76 years of agq-— is . a ve f v serious one. At the latest inquiry no was reported to be doing a» well as could be expected. ____^_
