HELPING HAND SHOP
Y.M.O.A. DAY COMPETITIONS
In connection with to-day's effort by the Helping Hand Shop on behalf of the Y.M.C.A. appeal, the Mayor (Mr W. W. Snodgrass) donated £2 for prizes for competitions, the results of which are as follows:
Wood Competition (18 bundles). —H. Manson 1, Bertie Percival 2. As a whole the bundles were well done and reflect great credit on the boya. Beside the entries a barrow load of bundles was sent for sale.
Plum Oake. —Mrs Douglas Boon 1, Miss "Walker, Mrs G. Flower, and Mrs Robertson, very highly commneded. Sponge Sandwich. —Mrs Green 1, Mrs L. Estcourt h.c.
Short Bread.—Miss Green l x Mrs Frost h.c.
Scones. —(40 good entries by Girls' 'Central School) Edna Walkey *l, Marjorie Penney 2, Connie Adamson 3, Marjorie Penney v.h.c, Francis Sheather h.c, Zita Hurley c. t The vjudges were Mesdames 'George Wastney and M. J. Levy.
