STOOK SALES. Dalgety and €o., I>td., report on their last week's sales as follows : At -Motueka on Wednesday a good entry of sheep was submitted to a fair attendance of 'buyers, and with one exception all lots were sold' "under the hammer at prices in favour Sales were made as follovyjs: I ewes, rather low conditioned,.; 19s !9d to 20&: S.M. ewes, fair condition^ ,2,ls j to 22s 6d; stores ewes, 15s,' lfe, - } cull ewes, 12s; small lambs, 13q,J?a j J good lambs, 15s j fat ewes, 23s 6d 4.i and 6-tooth half-bred wethers," 23s , aged rams, 2£ guineas; 3 Shear rams, 7 guineas. .At Takaka on Thursday we submitted a very large yarding of sheep and a small, entry of cattle to a good gathering of local, and buyers from other districts. Bidding throughout was spirited, the demand for sound-mouth ewes in good condition being very keen, as a result of which a really good sale took place, vendors as a whole obtaining well in excess of their reserves. ..e quote:—S.M. ewes, 20s to 23s 6d, according to condition j mixed aged . ewes, : 2ss to 265; 2-tooth ewes, 26s to 26s 6d; low conditioned S.M. ewes, i 18s 6d to 19s 9d; store ewes, 14s to; 17s r cull ewes, 10s 6d to 12s 6d!; fat; ewes, 24s 9d to 275; 2-tooth wethers, j 21s 6d to 23s 9d ; 4-tooth wethers, 24s I io : 26s 3d; fat and forward wethers, 25s to 25s 9d; fat wethers to 27s 6d ; fat lambs, 18s to 18s 6d; forward rape lambs, 17s to 17s 9d ; store lanvbs, 14s to. 15s; small lambs. 9s to 12s; cull lambs, ss; rams, £1 Is to £4 4s; ■weanere,'smalU 28s 6d to 33s 6d; empty heifers; £4 ss: cows and calves (low conditioned). £5 10s. At Mr Salisbury's sale on Friday we offered a large collection of sundries and live .stock, all of which elicited keen, cbmnetition arid- a good sale resulted. The Holstein cow s and heifers were well competed for by buyers from outside districts, and all lots; sold in excess of the reserve. We quote: — Holstein cows (aered), £l2 to £2O: heifers' in milk, £ll 10s to £l6: 5ttonth heifers. £6' 10s; 2A-year steers, £7"l6s to £7 J7s- 6d : pnfv heif-s, £7i ss; "rams, £3 3* >to £5 ss: r ; 7 s > tb f£s.
