BRITISH POLITICS.
(Australian aW N.Z. Cable Association.. LONDON, Oct. 25. In the House of Commons, during a discussion on the Petroleum Bill., the Government were defeated by 44 votes to 55 upon the Government's proposal to pay surface owners in Britain a royalty of ninepence a ton.
