(United Press Association.:)
WELLINGTON, This T>ay.. Dealing with after-war problems the annual report of the New Zealand Employers' Federation states:—"So far as New Zealand, is concerned, it is certain that unless by some means it is •found possible to increase the efficiency of the workers of the Dominion it will be found quite impossible to our position as ,a manufacturing country. It is quite evident that the present system- of increasing wages, shortening hours, and placing- further restrictions upon our trades and- industries •must cease if their expansion, or even their" continuance an -many cases, is to he secured'. Just -what should be done is difficult to say. This might well he made the principal subject for discussion at th e annual meeting. It is inevitable that, notwithstanding the favourable conditifins of work in New Zealand, difficult proDlems regarding the industrial situation will have to be dealt with "by the Federation in the near future.?-'
