He read a statement the j tenor of which was that when the Na- j tional Register was taken, the Govern- ) ment gave a pledge that it would not be' used for military purposes • that the j Government had no intention of impos- ■ | ing conscription. His idea of patriotism | did not coincide with the official view. . The case is proceeding.
