A -well-known and highly-respected resident of -the district passed away at •Central "Eakaka on Friday last in the person of -Mrs W. C. Baigent. The deceased; who was a daughter of the late Mr Charles Besfi, ,of Appleby, /underwent a serious- operation about a couple of months ago in- ;Nelson, and only returned home shortly ibefore her •'death. She leaves a husbaricf, three sons (Messrs Edward, Frederick and Ashley Baigent) and two daughters (Mrs Painter and Miss Baigent), for.whom much sympathy is felt. <
