CHANCELLOR FIRMLY IN THE SADDLE
GERMANY PREPARED' FOR LONG WAR, (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Rec. May 18, 9.45 a.m.) COPENHAGEN, May 17. A correspondent states that Dr Von Bethmann-Hollweg is firmly in the saddle again, having by his attitude refuted the suggestions that Germany is ready for peace. The correspondent asserts that the belief is general in Denmark that Germany is far from defeated, and is ready to fight to the uttermost before she will lay down her arms.
