Giblin, of Stoke, has received ■word that his son, Sergt. M. M. Giblin, ■was -wounded o'ri Sth May'. Mr Giblin has had four sons at the front. One has returned, another died of wounds, and there is another son still at the front, in addition to Sergt. M. M. Giblin, now reported wounded. Miss Violet Cheyhe Farnie, first assistant teacher, Nelson -Girls' School, has been called to her home at Geraldme. On Saturday she received word that her brother Private Stuart Cheyne Farnie, had died of wounds in France. Deceased was educated at the Geraldme High School and Lincoln College and won medals for swimming and shooting. Mr T. M. Shoobridge, of Hobart, and Mr W. H. Calvert, of the Hubn Valley, who came across to New Zealand to- judge at the .National Apple Show at Bunedin. have been spending a few days in the Nelson district and left for Wellington by the Kaitoa last night. »- " ' !
