NELSON A. & P. ASSOCIATION

MEETING OF GENERAL COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the General Committee of the Nelson Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held at •Richmond on Saturday evening. Present: Messrs A. P. Allport (president), Walter Thorn (vice-president), W. H. May (hon. treasurer}. John Biggar, Godfrey Best. Hayes Crouches. Thomas B. Chisnall. John'Hagen. J. W. Hagen. T. H. Holland. W. D. Harkness. F. Lusty, jun., J. Wells, E. W. Win. George W Best (ex-president, and J-. Glen (secretary). An apology for absence was received from Mr J. Wadsworth. Mr J. W. Brown, Port .Nelson, was elected a member of the association. Several resignations were accepted, and one resignation was withdrawn. It was resolved on the motion of tho president, seconded by the vice-presi-dent, that all members of the association who are- on active service, at th» \ front, be kept on the members' list as j honorary members till their return. The New Zealand Council of Agri culture advised that the annual con' ! ference of agricultural and pastoral a? sociation delegates would be held at Wellington on Wednesday and Thiir? day. July 11th and 12th. It was do sired that remits from affiliated associations should be in the. hands of the secretary by 31st .May. The President and Mr May were n]> pointed delegates to attend the confer enee. Members of the Association who may have matters they desire to be made ! the subject of remits by the committee should communicate samo at once to i Mr Glen in order that the committee may consider same. It was resolved that for the months of June and July /the committee meet on the first Saturday. It was resolved that the delegates to the conference should interview.-. the Minister of Agriculture in 'respect to Richmond Park, while in Wellington. The Nelson Red Cross Central Committee wrote' thanking the Association for the donation of £6 3s Id: from Mr Alex Wilkie's enrio stand. The Richmond Fire Brigade acknowledged with thanks a donation of £5 'ss for services at fire at Richmond Park. Tie Richmond Boroiign Council advised that it was regretted that rates on Richmond Park could not be remitted. It was resolved that the 'Richmond Borough Council be asked to make a footpath from the railway line to the main entrance to Richmond Park.
