In the House of Commons Sir Edward Carson, First Lord of the Admiralty, announced changes at the Admiralty. Sir John Jellicoe is to have the additional •title of Chief of the Naval Staff. Vice-Admiral Sir H. F. Oliver,, at present Chief of the Naval' Staff, is to "becolne an additional member of the Admiralty. Admiral Duff, who is directing tne anti-submarine campaign, "has added to the Board. - Captain H'alsey 'has been promoted to Third Sea Lord. Captain Eric Geddes has . been added to the Board as -controller with temporary rank of Vice-Ad-miral. The changes., said Sir Edward..Carsony would free Sir John Jellicoe and the Naval Staff \from admioistrative work in order. that they might concentrate upon the issues relating to the naval conduct of the war.
