FIRiM BOLD'ON' HINDENBTJRG LINE. GALLANTLY HELD EO'R TEN DAYS GAINiS AT ROEUX. {A.uf.tr&Ji&Ti «.nd N.Z. Cable AsieociAU-0n... *nd Reuter.) LONDON, May 13. Sir Douglas HSaig reports: We repulsed two counter-attacks on our positions on the Hindenburg line eastward of Rullecourt. The Australians for ten days gallantly maintained their positions in this sector, repelling at least 12 determined counter-attacks. We hold the greater part of Bullecourt, and have established ourselves in th« western houses of Roeux. ■We again made progress on the western slopes of Greenland Hill. We brought down 11 German aeroplanes. . Six of ours are missing, Mr Philip Gibbs says that as a result of the British gains at Roeux the Ger- . (mans have lost their observation post? This is a high advantage to the British Staff, and there is much relief because the points for which we have struggled so long were regained so easily, and were organised defensively so rapidly.
