M Zaimis, "after receiving certain persons connected with Athens society, appealed to their patriotism, and asked them to leave Athens provisionally. It is understood that the Government ■will accept the principle of the Allies scneme of organisation and control. IRON CROSSES. (Rec. Mav 14. 12.30 p.m.) AMSTERDAM, May 13. Several hundreds of thousand of Iron Crosses have been distributed, owing to the Kaiser empowering all army eommanders to bestow them. The Berliner Tageblatt protests that the Iron Crosses being won behind the inkstand are greater than at the front. Many have been bestowed on officials and orderlies, even army cooks and chauffeurs, at the rear of the trenches.
