Alter further lengthy conferences with Mr Cook and his own Ministerial colleagues, Mr Hughes announced' that the following Ministry, consisting of six Liberals and five of the. Hughes party, to be known as the Commonwealth. War Ministry, had been formed : Right Hon. W. M. Hughes, Prime Minister and Attorney-General. Right Hon. Joseph Cook, Minister of the Navy Right Hon. Sir John Forrest, Federal ' Treasurer. Senator Pearce, Minister of Defence. Senator Millen, Vice-President of the j&xecutive Council. Hon. W. A. Watt, Minister oE ?rorks and Railways. Hon. P. M. Glynn, Minister of Home Affairs and Teritories. Hon. J. A. Jensen, Minister of Customs. Hon. W. Webster, Postmaster-General. Hon. L. E. Groom' and Senator E. J. Russell, Honorary Ministers. In the course of a statement to pressmen, Mr Hughes claimed that the Ministry was a strong team, such as would give effect to the desire of the people to prosecute the war with the utmost determination, to the end. He also stated that he had asked Sir William Irvine to place his services at the disposal of the Government in relation to vital and urgent matters arising oat of the war. and he had consented? Mr Hughes refused to explain, but the deduction is that Sir William- Irvine is to accompany Mr Hughes to the Imperial Conference. SOUTH AUSTRALIAN POLITICS. ■ (Rec. 9.20 a.m. ) ADELAIDE, This Day.
