ANOTHER OFFENSIVE ON THE TIGRIS
TWO THOUSAND PRISONERS CAPTURED.

LONDON, Feh. 18. ' A Mesopotamia official repdrti says:— We took the .offensive on Thursday on the right centre at Dahra ibend, on the right ibank of the Tigris, and secured) the objective on- a front p£ 700' yards. We extended 'the gains by ■bombing to a-depth of 500 yards on- a, front of 700 yards. '....".. We assaulted later on the left centre and secured the objective on a front of 850 yards. . During the night we cleared: out "the enemy from small areas, securing the whole of Dahra bend.
We captured 89 officers, of wnom two and three battalion oommanders, and -1906 men. The bqqty includes five machine.guns, 250 rifles, and large quantities of ammunition and stored . ■<-".-'■ We advanced^ohFriday 1200 yards southwards of Sliimirah' loop, aiid are now holding the south-west corner of thia bend.
