MR MASSEY
**» PRESENTATION: OF THE FREEDOM OF YORK. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON,. Nov. 15. •Mr Massey, speaking at York, in acknowledging the presentation of the freedom, of the city, said the public of Britain and the Dominions were now anxious for closer ; union, and the statesmen of Britain must take advantage of the present opportunity by giving a lead in connection with'the buildins up of the great Imperial edifice, of which the foundations had been well and truly laid by the present war. It was a; splendid thing that representative men of the 'Dominions should visit the United Kingdom and see the people well abreast of the times, not decaying, as the Anstro-Geromans had deluded themselves -into believincr. It was equally" important that British statesmen should gain an idea of the real potentialities of the Empire.
