METHODIST SYNOD
The delegates to the Nelson; 'Methodist Synod were welcomed by the officials and members of St. John's Church at a social gathering last evening. Rev. W. Banmber occupied the chair. / After the National Anthem 'had been sung and prayer offered. Mr. A. A. ■Lucas, senior officer of .St. John's,' eoctended a hearty welcome to the visitimr ministers and laymen, and trusted that their work in Synod w child tend to the advancement of God's work in the district. _' .. . Rev. C. Penuey, of Reef ton. and Rev. B. F. Rothwell.'of Blenheim, gave interesting addresess, in the course of which they acknowledged the cordial welcome accorded to members of' the 'Synod. 'Musical items were rendered by Misses V. Smith, E. Cass and G. Neale, and refreshments were provided By the ladies.
