The Royal Colonial Institute presented an illuminated address to Sir Rider Haggard in recognition of-his Dominions •tour. ' '-"'.' . Sir Rider Haggard 'said it -was the Empire's duty, in view of future submarine possibilities, to have stores of food avail- ' ablt in Britain in case of need. They ought to produce to the utmost in Britain, but the opportunities were limited, ■whereas they were illimitable in the Dominions. Earl Grey said he was communicating with the Dominions and. Colonies, and hoped soon to take step, towards co-ordinating the Home and Dominions' policies.
