FURTHER PROGRESS. STRONG. ENEMY ATTACK BERULSED. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Rec. Nov. 16, 11.20 a.m.) PAR-IS, Nov. 15. A communique states ; —We progressed to the northern spur of St. Pierre Vast' Wood. After an intense bombardment, the Germans strongly counter-attacked the positions captured by us on the ?th from the Sugar Refinery at Ablaincourt to the Chaulnes Wood. Despite the obstinacy of the assault and v: the large use of liquid fire and tear'shells, the enemy was repulsed with heavy loss, though some fractions managed to reach a group of houses east of Presoire.
