(Rec. Nov. 16, 11.25 a.m.) '* " ' LONDON, Nov. 15. Sir Douglas Haig reports: The ground won yesterday north of the Ancre was secured at night. More prisoners have been taken. GERMAN COMMUNIQUE. (Rec. Nov. 16, 12.45 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 15.: . A German communique says: Yestei'day, in a great battle all day on the Ancre, the English attacked with heavy masses. They captured BeaumontHamel, but elsewhere failed. The communique shows that the Brandenburgefs Guards division was among the troops opposing the British.
