N.Z. REINFORCEMENTS
ORDER-IN-COUNCIL PASSED.
The Hon. James Allen,, chairman., of - the Recruiting Board, . telegraphed as follows from Wellington last, night ,:-rr ' At a meeting- of the Executive Council to-day, an Order -in Council,'as TB; quired by section 32, subsection (7) qf the Military Service Act, was passed, empowering the Ministerof Defence to issue a warrant authorising "the, .Commandant of the Defence, Forces to call up from the First Division of the . Reserve for sorvico with, the Expeditionary Force a sufficient .number of reservists to make good the shortages which nave been found to exist in tho Twenty-third and- Twenty-fourth Reinforcements. Pursuant to this authority tho Commandant - has, directed the Government Statistician to call np sufficient reservists to . make good the shortages and to'allow a; margin for men, found to be medically unfit and for men who are exempted on appeal. A start will bo-made with tho ballot at 9 o'clock to-morrow (Thurs day) morning. T No reservists \till be , called xip by ballot for recruiting districts No. 1 (Auckland City), No. 7 ~ (Hawke's Bay). No, 12 (Nelson), and No 20 (Wanganui). '
