NELSON A. & P. ASSOCIATION

MEETING OF GENERAL COMMITTEE.

The monthly meeting of the General Committee of the above association was held on Saturday evening last. Present: Messrs G.. W. Best (president), A. P. Allport (vice-president). W. K. May (hon. treasurer), J. Biggar, C. H. Ching. T. B. Chisnall, H. Croucher, J. W. Hagen, John Hagen, James Hunt, F. Lusty, jun., E. Robinson. Walter Thorn, Joseph "Wadsworth, Noble Win, E. W. Win, T. H. Holland, and John Glen (secretary). Apologies were receiving from Messrs W. H. Alborough. P. -Bond. J. E. Bartlett, W. D. Harkness, F. Tv". Hamilton, and H. Ching. It was resolved to send a letter of sympathy and condolence to Mr and Mrs W. O'Connor on the death of their son, Private W. O'Connor. •Mrs Croucher and family and Mrs Myttoni and family wrote expressing thanks for letters of sympathy. The following new members were elected: —Messrs A. E. Higgins (Spring Grove), and W. Wells (Wakefield), proposed, by the secretary; Messrs' C. Nieumann (Appleby), and H. P. Hawkins (Richmond), proposed by the president. It was resolved arising out of from Mr S. Berryman, Kohatu, that a champion ribbon be provided for the. champion hack. A number of aoplic2tions for space' for side shows at Richmond Park en the 21st and 22nd inst. were granted, and several were' refused. It was resolved on the request of the Nelson Red Cross Committee to grant collectors for that fund permission to take up collections on show days. The Hon. Minister for Asricultm-e telegraphed inviting the association to send a representative to Wellington for the conference to be held on the 14th with regard to the proposal to requisition all New Zealand wool for the State. It was resolved not to appoint a delegate. The district railway manager , advised that the suggestion of the association with regard to earlv train from Glenhope on People's Day at the been agreed to. , It was resolved to thank the manager for his courtesy and promptitude. ■ It was resolved to take out an accident insurance policy for show days as "usual. / . , It was resolved to prohibit motor cars -Diving to an<J from the Park running inside the course. This prohibition will- not affect cars which, entering once, take up'a stand and remain there. The president, Messrs May and Hunt were appointed a committee to scrutinise tickets in connection wih the guessing competitions.
