COMMERCIAL. WELLINGTON WOOL, SKINS, AND HIDES SALE. Messrs E. Buxton and Co., Ltd., report that the usual fortnightly sale held at Wellington on Fjjday, 10th inst., large catalogues of sheepskins, and hides, besides wool in bags and fadges, were submitted .before full benches of buyers, and the sale throughout -was marked by exceptionally keen competion for all lines offered. Prices for the small lots of wool showed an advance on recent rates, and sheepskins were again in strong demand, one line of 200 exceptionally fine salted crossbred* topping the market at 18s 6d each. There was an excited demand for hides, especially cows', which realised extreme prices, super medium to light making up to Is per lb., and prime caa'skins up to 16.|d. The following is the current range of values: — Sheepskins.—Halfbreds 12fd- to 13Ad ; crossbred, fine 13|d to loi-d ; medium" to coarse 13d to 13£ d; short to half-wools BJ-d to lambs lOd to ll|d; crossbreds, dead and damaged, 8d to lid; inferior and badly damaged up to 8d; pelts 8d to lid ; damp, salted, and green up to 18s 6d j pelts, salted, 4s to. 4s lOd; lambs', salted, xm to 5s 9d.
