AIR RAID AT FIUME
GREAT DAMAGE INFLICTED. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) ROME, Aug. 5. Details of the bombardment of Fin me show that 24 Caproni areoplanes, each with a crew of three, carried an aggregate of four tons, of explosives. They were followed by fighting aeroplanes. All the bombs dropped exploded'. They destroyed munition depots and. a submarine factory, and hit- six ships, -which retreated in all directions. Six hostile aeroplanes attempted to engage the Italians, -bait were dispersed, one being destroyed'. STRONG INFANTRY ATTACKS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Rec. Aug. 7, 12.30 p.m.) LO'NDON, Aug. 6. An Italian communique pays: The Austrians made strong infantry attacks at several points between the Adige and the Upper Isonzo. During attack _at Monfalcone retreating Austrians left gas bombs, which expludid as we entered the trenches. AUSTRIAN TORPEPOER SUNK. {Reuter's Telegrams.)
