WEDDINGTON, August 3
The Superintendent of Police received the following telegram from, the constable at Otaki ■ 1 to-night:—"A mail named Bates, his wife and child, wero
killed, it is supposed by a fall of bush, at Manakau camp. Bate's body ha q been recovered; those of his wife and child have not yet been recovered."
